Sunday Supper
Five churches in the Cedar Valley have partnered together to offer a free community meal at our church each Sunday Night. This is a great mission opportunity as we always appreciate volunteers. There are 2 shifts: Opening shift is from 3:30-5:30; and Closing shift is from 4:30-6:30. There is something for every age to help with during this event. If you would like to volunteer on a Sunday or two, please contact the church office or sign up on the Volunteer Center of the Cedar Valley website. |
Little Free Library
A Little Free Library is located on Walnut Street by the church. The library makes children's books available to our neighbors. This ministry is part of a larger international movement to encourage reading and build community. Please stop by and take a book, enjoy it, return it, or share it with others. Then come back for another. This Library is for everyone! |
Link and the Walnut Neighborhood
Our church is an active partner with LINK ministries and the Walnut Neighborhood Association. We believe in loving our neighbor and working for the well-being of all people. Our neighbor is often quite literally the person across the street. LINK is connected to the Christian Community Development Association and uses CCDA principles for the full flourishing of the Walnut Neighborhood and Eastside Waterloo.

Partners in Education
First Presbyterian Church is a Partner in Education with Irving Elementary in Waterloo. The church supports children, teachers, administration, and parents in their mission to educate and improve lives. We show support by providing Cafe Awards, filling celebratory bags for the 100th day of school, offering awards for Star Week, adopting a Family at Christmas, helping with the May Spring Fun Fair, and giving aid in any way we can. At the beginning of the school year we love to collect school supplies to deliver to the school for a fresh start. |
PCUSA Offerings
First Presbyterian Church supports mission work around the world and in our community through offerings sponsored by the Presbyterian Church (USA).
