PCUSA Offerings

First Presbyterian Church supports mission work around the world and in our community through offerings sponsored by the Presbyterian CHurch (USA).

Usually taken just before Christmas. Half of this offering benefits retired clergy through the Board of Pensions and half benefits our racial ethnic schools and colleges. Ideas and resources for interpreting this offering are available at the link.

One Great Hour of Sharing

Usually taken Palm Sunday or Easter. Ideas and resources for interpreting this offering are available at the link. The offering benefits Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, Self-Development of Peoples and the Presbyterian Hunger Program. Ideas and resources for interpreting this offering are available at the link.

Pentecost Offering

Usually received on Pentecost Sunday, the Pentecost Offering provides a direct way to meet the needs of children at risk, youth, and young adults. Congregations are encouraged to keep 40 percent of the Offering to support ministry with children at risk in their communities. Ideas and resources for interpreting this offering are available at the link.

Peacemaking Offering

The Peacemaking Offering is received by most congregations on World Communion Sunday, celebrated the first Sunday in October. It is recommended that 25 percent of the offering received be retained by each congregation, 25 percent be used by synods and presbyteries, and 50 percent be used by the General Assembly ministries through the Presbyterian Peacemaking Program.
